“‘Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust,
and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and He has
become my salvation.’ With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
And you will say in that day, ‘Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name,
make known His deeds among the peoples, proclaim that His name is exalted.’” ~ Isaiah 12:2-4
Having
a cold is not the most pleasant of experiences. This past week, I woke up with
a sore throat and runny nose and felt rather miserable. Although I have been tired
throughout the last couple days, I've been leaning on the strength of my Lord
and He has sustained me.
Recently,
a few families in my area have been facing difficult trials. My cold seems so
trivial in comparison with a destructive house fire and car accidents that
impacted the health of the passengers. But just as God gives grace in the
smallest of hardships, He gives even more strength to those facing the larger
struggles. In the big things as well as the little, God is our might. Whether
we are facing something insignificant or something devastating, God is
wonderful and He is strong.
Today
I was reading Isaiah 12 and the beauty and the promise that lies in these
precious verses struck me. God is our salvation, so we can trust Him. He is our
strength, so we don't need to be afraid. Even when times are hard, we can draw
water from the never-ending wells of His thirst-quenching salvation to refresh
us. We can give thanks because our God is so good.
The
words to the song Jesus Loves Me come
to mind: “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to
Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong.” We are little and weak, like
children in the arms of God and our precious Lord Jesus is strong and we can
depend on Him.
Let's
trust God. Whatever we're facing, He is with us. He is right beside us. He is
our strength.
Love
in Christ,
Christina
